London: Suits and Jeggings

Sorry, no pictures today.

London's making a strong showing for the English suit. No one does them better. A common sight is a ridiculously well fitting gray suit, narrow pants and a slim cut. Lapels tend to be pretty to ridiculously narrow and hand top-stitched, which is the only way to go esp in this humidity. I highly approve. Another more disturbing trend is amazing navy suits with great BLACK shoes and accessories. Not. Ok.

Even worse: Jeggings. Jean leggings. Leggings that are the color and shading of jeans, even with yellow stitched fly details. These are worn like pants, as are most leggings, not just like tights under dresses. You don't wear bottoms, just leggings.

I'll have to keep an eye out and take pictures.

London: Day 1

Alrighty, just some quick shots from walking around the Kensington neighborhood.
It's hard to see the whole effect of this one, but an absolutely adorable magenta coat w/ a full skirt, black tights, light canvas tennies and a banana seat bike, SO adorable.
This woman was walking her tiny little dog and we were behind her for a couple of blocks. I didn't catch the front of her dress, but the back has a pretty schnazzy detail, no? Also, when she'd stopped and we passed her my friend and I caught her taking folded Kleenex out from under her foot in her shoe to use!
Can you see the girl in the yellow skirt? This is the best picture I could get. Adorable what I think was eyelet yellow skirt and an impeccable ivory shawl collar wrap sweater of sorts.
Fun jacket detail. Love jackets w/ full skirts.

Overall I'd say that so far I can definitely pick out the professional native Londoners and that there are a numerous amount of amazingly tailored skinny suits and dress shoes, ankle boots are surprisingly and pleasantly present.
