favorite picture: corner of New York

I hardly remember taking this in NYC and couldn't tell you when or where, but I love it. I love corners and thumbnails of cities. I have quite a few of London as well.

I'm dying to go back. I'm excited for 6 months in Cedar, and need the moneys, but I'm itching to be back in New York, itching.

...Favorite Picture? Yes. Favorite picture: Favorite Oscar Moment

I feel like I haven't blogged in forever, or really had an original idea in awhile.

Mostly I've been dealing with life things. Suffice it to say life is happening and I'm trimming my sails to get where I want it to take me.

I've got my Merlot/Lace all done but two buttons which are currently sold out at the store, boo. I don't want to post pictures until I'm in NYC. I haven't decided when to wear it yet. I have some important meetings/tours/occasions for dresses, but I don't think it'd be wise to wear it five days out of eight.

Hmm..can you tell this is one of my entries where I make myself start a new entry without knowing what it'll actually be about?

So...
Ok, I'll just share this as one of my favorite pictures. I posted it on Facebook, but I want everyone to enjoy it.

This was one of my favorite moments from the Oscars, mostly because Charlize Theron is my girl crush like woah. She's 5'10" (I'm taller) and Dustin Hoffman is 5'5". She's obviously in heels, but has no shame about being roughly 10" taller than Mr. Hoffman. Stand tall beautiful lady! And Dustin Hoffman's such a boss he rocks all 5'5"and makes her laugh, like he do.

I try my darndest not to slouch and I have no shame in wearing heels. Charlize Theron is my idol. I loved this moment and never wanted it to end.

favorite picture: view from my Cedar porch

I think I've posted pictures from this porch before. If not here then for sure on facebook. This is my last moonrise from last season.

I loved my porch in Cedar last year. I had some very good times and created very good memories on that porch, whether I was sitting in my robe with my feet up reading, having a girls night filled with chocolate and Wendy's chicken nuggets, or just having other visitors over. It was a great porch and I miss it and the people I entertained on it. If you were a guest of the porch in any capacity know that more porch memories need to be made!

favorite picture: Marty and Ben stand oh so close

I should probably blog something huh? I was oh so prolific a year ago...hmm...

I went to a Husker game on Saturday and could swear everyone went to my high school, then I realized that Memorial Stadium's student section is a prime example of German and Czechs breeding exclusively with each other for 200 years, thus creating men and women that all look the same. So, to refresh my eyeballs here are two of my favorite faces standing ridiculously close.

Marty and Ben oh so so close. I have no idea what this is from, but I loves it.

favorite pictures: South Bank

I love the South Bank. I love Shakespeare. I love Shakespeare's Globe. Its walls are made with cashmere, woof. When I got back from two weeks on the continent and was all alone in London the first place I went was the Globe, just to sit. It has a relatively good ice cream van, a lovely shop, a public(ish) restroom with Dyson airblades and some of my best memories of London are getting off at St. Paul's, walking across the Harry Potter (Millenium) Bridge and sitting around the South Bank. Said area also includes Borough Market, Southwark Cathedral, the Clink, the Golden Hind, and the Tate Modern. Seriously, one of my favorite places in the world!

favorite pictures: my view from Cedar

I took this photo last week on what was the first autumnal like day of the year. I LOVE AUTUMN! The view from my porch (minus the hooligan apartment) is pretty darn nice. When the sun sets the red rock turns pink and now that it's more fall-ish the air is cool on your face and you can just taste pumpkin and see the rainbow leaves and anticipate the scarves and sweaters!

The best days are coming!!!

Favorite pictures: Thinking ab home

I've been thinking about home lately. I'm 2/3 of the way through my contract here and some of my dear dear friends have left me for their next adventures. As I prepare to return home for probably the last time before I'm an adult for good I realize it won't be the same bc as mentioned previously bestie Sarah is now in NYC. Nebraska sans Sarah still holds a wonderful place in my heart however...and NYC with Sarah will be quite an adventure hopefully in the near future!!!

remember lightning storms?

favorite picture: Michael Fassbender

oh so very thin in his fall front pants.
I once read a review of Jane Eyre describing Michael Fassbender as "greyhound lean". This is what they meant...

Sometimes I can't get over how narrow men are. It's probably because I have the boniest and most angular hips around. I know that's the point, girls have hips, boys don't, but it surprises me all the same.

Also, everything else about this picture is wonderful and I want to watch the film again.

favorite picture: Duchess of Kent's wedding dress

I haven't done one of these in awhile. This is my way of copping out on a real entry. I have some in the works, don't you fret.

I just found this randomly, I was going to post a picture of the Duchess of Devonshire when I found this blog entry with this picture of the Duke and Duchess of Kent on their wedding day in 1961. I would wear her dress tomorrow...if you know, I was getting married, which I'm not.

Favorite pictures: Westminster Abbey at night

I've posted the Louvre at night, so here's Westminster Abbey, on the west side (facing Parliament). I went the night of the 2010 elections when Cameron won. Big Ben (or rather the Clock Tower (not St. Stephen's Tower) of the Palace of Westminster, or rather the Houses of Parliament) was used as the back drop for projected election results throughout the night and this was the reason for my jaunt to that area at night (not actually having been to Westminster before or since this trip). I snapped some rather terrible shots of the Clock Tower, and the London Eye, but I really only came up with one good photo of Westminster that I like, and here it is.

favorite pictures: Kew Gardens

One of my favorite non-theatre activities while in London was visiting Kew Gardens. I loved the Temperate House  and the grounds in general. My roommates and I jokingly picked out our "engagement trees" a la the Gwyneth Paltrow Emma. It was just a magical and wonderful place! Of course my favorite photos I took are the ones I sepia'd.

what a wonderful tree for engagement!

favorite picture: Eiffel Tower

When you go to Paris on your own it gets pretty ridiculous to see site after site and have no one to share them with. So I'm sharing some pictures I took of the Eiffel Tower. I have every intention of printing or painting these some day for my home. I think they're pretty great.

Favorite picture: Louvre at night

After I spent a term in London in the spring of '10 I went to Paris, Switzerland and Germany by myself to do research. The wonderful woman I stayed with in Paris insisted that I see the city at night and I'm so glad she did!! I wish I had a better camera, but I got some good shots and below is one of my favorite photos ever.

The actual picture quality is not great, but it just glows! You can see the French flag and the still still water and best thing: The guy sitting and looking to the left, I LOVE that guy and his being there was a happy accident I'll cherish forever.

favorite picture: 1920s wedding

I know I've done a lot of favorite picture entries lately, and they're kind of a cop out bc they require very little thought, but I just found this one and have to share it.

Three things: the veil, the haircut and the parrot (?)

favorite picture: Liberty ties

Michael Levine's in L.A. carries Liberty of London cotton prints for $35/yard that are beautiful. Seeing them yesterday made me remember fondly my trip to Liberty while in London. Martha and I dedicated a whole day to Liberty of London, Savile Row and SOHO. It was one of my favorite and most fondly remembered days.

Here are Liberty of London ties. Great? yes.

favorite picture: vintage dior

I've had this photo in my cache for ages and am still hopelessly in love with it.
the hat, the waist, the blouse, the make up, the skirt, the jacket (which I'd die to see more of) and just the staging overall. This is one of my dream outfits on a very long list that I need to make for myself.

favorite picture: 1930s wedding

Today's just one of my favorite pictures. Isn't this absolutely fantastic? I mean the VEIL for starters, the dress, the top hat, the morning coat, the French cuffs, the cravat, the bouquet, the gloves, and the background. If I get married in Nebraska this is sure to happen and I will revel in it.
