First: The Art of Fabric Manipulation by Colette Wolff
I've wanted this one for awhile. It's got all sorts of great instructions and illustrations for smocking, pleating, quilting, ruffles, tucking, stuffing, cording etc. It's great and I want it!
Second: Couture Sewing Techniques by Claire B. Shaeffer
It's exactly what it sounds like and has lots of illustrations and photos of garments.
